MET英会話教室 is operated by 株式会社 Fledge Japan (Fledge Japan Co., Ltd.). We respect the privacy of every learner and family and use personal information only for appropriate education, communication, administration, payment, safety, legal-compliance, and related school purposes.

Where accounting, tax, employment, safety, consumer, contractual, or other laws impose additional requirements, 株式会社 Fledge Japan will handle relevant information in accordance with those requirements.

- Student information: name, date of birth or age, school year/grade, contact details, language background, learning history, interests, goals, lesson preferences, attendance, course, level, lesson schedule, progress, teacher notes, and information voluntarily provided to support learning.
- Parent/guardian information: name, relationship to the student, telephone number, email address, address where needed, billing information, communication records, and emergency contact information for minors.
- Adult learner information: name, contact information, learning goals, professional or study-related objectives voluntarily provided, lesson history, attendance, progress, and payment information.
- Trial and assessment information: trial-lesson notes, level-check results, strengths, areas for improvement, recommended course, lesson length, focus, pace, and frequency.
- Administrative and payment information: enrollment forms, agreements, reservations, attendance records, invoices, receipts, payment status, cancellation records, withdrawal information, and other records reasonably necessary to operate the school.

- assess learning needs and recommend suitable courses, lesson lengths, levels, frequency, and learning plans;
- provide face-to-face English lessons and related educational support;

- monitor progress, prepare lesson content, provide feedback, and communicate learning goals or next steps;
- communicate with students, parents, or guardians about lessons, schedules, school events, payments, safety, closures, and school operations;
- calculate fees, issue invoices and receipts, confirm payments, and maintain accounting records;
- manage school events, presentations, theater-based activities, and other educational programs;
- improve teaching quality, curriculum, teacher training, student support, and school operations;
- comply with applicable legal, contractual, accounting, and administrative obligations.

Children, Students, Parents, and Guardians
MET英会話教室 serves learners from young children through adults. Personal information concerning minors is handled with particular care.
Parents or legal guardians generally provide enrollment information and required consent on behalf of young children. For older minors, MET may also communicate directly with the student where appropriate while maintaining necessary parent/guardian involvement.
Enrollment does not authorize MET to use a student’s information for unrelated purposes. Access to student information is limited to teachers, staff, administrators, and service providers who reasonably require it for education, safety, communication, administration, payment, or legal compliance.

Trial Lessons, Level Checks, and Learning Records
To create a personalized learning plan, MET英会話教室 may record information from trial lessons, consultations, level checks, teacher observations, class participation, assignments, presentations, reading, writing, listening, speaking, pronunciation, vocabulary, grammar, and other learning activities.
These records may be used to identify strengths and needs, recommend a suitable course or lesson format, plan instruction, track development, explain progress to the learner or family, and adjust learning goals.
Learning records are educational records used for school operations and student support. They are not sold or used for unrelated advertising.
SECTION 07
Photographs, Videos, Audio, Performances, and Student Work
MET英会話教室 may create photographs, video, audio, performance recordings, presentation recordings, or examples of student work for legitimate internal educational purposes, such as teaching feedback, progress review, event documentation, teacher training, or private communication with the learner or family where appropriate.
Enrollment does not automatically authorize public or promotional use. Where consent is required, MET will obtain separate consent before using an identifiable student’s photograph, video, voice, name, artwork, writing, performance, presentation, or other work on websites, social media, advertisements, brochures, posters, promotional videos, or similar public materials.
Students or parents/guardians may decline promotional consent without affecting ordinary lessons. Where consent has already been given, they may contact MET regarding future use or withdrawal of consent, subject to reasonable legal and practical limitations for materials already lawfully produced or distributed.
SECTION 08
Website, Cookies, and Technical Information
When the MET英会話教室 website is used, technical information such as IP address, browser type, device information, pages visited, access date/time, referral information, cookies, and security logs may be collected automatically.
This information may be used to operate and secure the website, prevent misuse, troubleshoot technical problems, understand website usage, and improve performance and usability. Visitors may be able to restrict cookies through browser settings, although some website functions may be affected.

Handling Outside Japan and Foreign Third Parties
Because MET works with online services, cloud systems, and international educational tools, some providers may store or process information outside Japan.

Safety, Emergency, and Legal Disclosures
Where reasonably necessary to protect the life, body, health, or safety of a student, staff member, visitor, or another person, MET英会話教室 may provide relevant personal information to appropriate persons or organizations, including parents/guardians, emergency medical services, hospitals, police, fire departments, government authorities, insurers, or other persons reasonably necessary to respond to the situation.
MET may also provide information where required by law, court order, lawful governmental request, insurance procedure, accounting obligation, or other legally recognized requirement.
Only information reasonably necessary for the relevant safety, emergency, administrative, or legal purpose will be disclosed.
SECTION 13
Relationship with MET Online and MET-EIS Hoikuen
MET英会話教室, MET英会話家庭教師 (online English tutoring), and MET-EIS 保育園 are separate services operated under 株式会社 Fledge Japan.
Information collected for MET英会話教室 will not automatically be used for unrelated MET-EIS childcare services or other services merely because they are operated by the same company.
Where a learner or family separately requests, enrolls in, or agrees to use MET online lessons or another Fledge Japan service, relevant information may be used or shared internally to provide that requested service, maintain learning continuity, avoid unnecessary duplication, or manage the relationship, to the extent necessary and lawful.
Where a new or materially different purpose requires consent, MET will obtain it as appropriate.
SECTION 14
Security Management Measures
株式会社 Fledge Japan takes necessary and appropriate organizational, personnel, physical, and technical measures to protect personal data against unauthorized access, loss, leakage, alteration, misuse, theft, or destruction.
Measures may include access restrictions, password/account controls, staff confidentiality requirements, staff guidance and supervision, secure storage of paper records, appropriate management of electronic records and devices, system updates, backup procedures, and supervision of contractors.
For security reasons, technical details that could weaken these safeguards are not publicly disclosed. Additional information concerning security-management measures may be provided upon an appropriate request where required by law.
SECTION 15
Retention and Secure Disposal
MET英会話教室 retains personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for education, enrollment, administration, contracts, attendance, payments, accounting, safety, legal requirements, dispute resolution, or other legitimate purposes.
Retention periods may differ depending on the type of record and applicable legal or operational requirements. When information is no longer reasonably required, MET will take appropriate steps to delete, destroy, anonymize, or otherwise securely dispose of it, subject to applicable retention obligations and technical backup cycles.
SECTION 16
My Number / Specific Personal Information
MET英会話教室 does not normally require or collect a student’s or parent’s My Number (個人番号) or other Specific Personal Information for ordinary inquiries, trial lessons, enrollment, or English lessons.
If 株式会社 Fledge Japan is legally required to handle My Number information for a specific employment, tax, social-insurance, payment, or other statutory procedure, it will be handled separately and only within the scope permitted by applicable law.
Please do not submit My Number information through ordinary MET inquiry, trial, enrollment, or contact forms unless specifically requested for a lawful procedure.
SECTION 17
Requests for Access, Correction, Deletion, or Suspension
Subject to applicable law, an individual or properly authorized parent, guardian, or representative may request matters concerning retained personal information, including notification of purpose of use, disclosure/access, correction, addition, deletion, suspension of use, erasure, suspension of third-party provision, or other rights available under applicable law.
MET may request reasonable identity and authority verification before processing a request. Certain requests may be restricted or refused where permitted by law, including where disclosure could adversely affect another person’s rights or safety, seriously interfere with proper school operations, or violate another legal obligation.
SECTION 18
Data Incidents
If 株式会社 Fledge Japan becomes aware of leakage, loss, unauthorized access, damage, or another personal-data incident affecting MET英会話教室, we will investigate the matter and take appropriate containment, remediation, and recurrence-prevention measures.
Where required by applicable law, we will report the incident to the Personal Information Protection Commission of Japan and notify affected individuals.
